A Week in Singapore 2

A Week in Singapore 2

A Week in Singapore 2

This week post was rather late as I was really caught up with work. This is my take-away lunch where I normally consume on my work desk – mixed vegetables rice that consist of 2 vegetables and 1 meat (chicken) S$2.80.

A Week in Singapore 2

Also whenever I have some spare time, I will try to listen to some music on my home theater system. Currently listening to Enigma: A Posteriori and Rua: Whisper. Nice!

A Week in Singapore 2

From Orchard Central, this is a shot of The CentrePoint which I believe the facade was newly renovated. If I am wrong, that means I haven’t been wandering around Orchard Road for some time already. Haha!

A Week in Singapore 2

From the same location that I took the shot of The CentrePoint, you can see the long flight of escalator (up going only). Also another group of folks setting up their DSLR camera and tripod nearby, possibly also trying to capture The CentrePoint too!

A Week in Singapore 2

Took the lift up to the 8th floor, love the ambiance which greeted my eyes. 🙂

A Week in Singapore 2

Trying to find a restaurant for dinner, Nolboo Hangari Galbi is a Korean restaurant which I believe is very popular in Korea (due to the articles that was shown from Korean newspapers). The queue was pretty long so we decided to skip it and scan through others.

A Week in Singapore 2

Ootoya is also fully packed and tons of people waiting for their turn. This is the first Ootoya opening in Singapore and I very much wanted to try it as I didn’t get to eat it during my trip to Japan during May 09. Sigh…will have to come again on another day. Next time will try to check whether I can make reservations!

A Week in Singapore 2

At the ground floor of Orchard Central, I noticed that the facade lighting of The CentrePoint do change colour. Recently, there are many malls (Orchard Central, ION Orchard, Illuma, etc) with various lighting effects at their facade. Is it the trend now?

A Week in Singapore 2

One of my favorite food! Prawn Dumpling Kway Teow cooked by my mother-in-law. She used to own a stall selling Wonton noodle and Prawn dumpling noodle in Redhill Market and was popular too! But she retired already so only we get to eat it now. Ha ha!

A Week in Singapore 2

Went to SHH Tyres (Toh Guan Road) to change my car tyres which is overused and long overdue to change. I thought I could still exploit it a little more until I drifted during a turn while in a carpark. It was raining so the car and floor was wet. Haha! Decided to go for Hankook after reading some test reports and recommendations.

A Week in Singapore 2

Car up on the jack and the old shoes are removed. Service was pretty fast as they had a few mechanics around.

A Week in Singapore 2

The tyres which was going to be fitted on my car – 205/55ZR16 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo. 4pcs at S$572 (after 20% discount).

A Week in Singapore 2

My Mazda 3 with the new shoes (Hankook Ventus V12 Evo) on. I was advised to run-in for 500km before I try any high speed sprint or wild cornering. 😛

A Week in Singapore 2

Going to Sim Lim Square (SLS) again to check out some stuffs. I seem to be going to SLS pretty often, right? I can imagine that if I were to stay in Tokyo (Japan), maybe I’ll make Akihabara my home? Wahaha!

A Week in Singapore 2

At some of the traffic crossing, you might be able to see red-light cameras around. The camera will take a photo of your car’s bum (with the license plate number) if you beat the red light. By the way, you will need to be captured by the 2 cameras in order to get yourself 12 demerits points and a traffic summon. 😛

A Week in Singapore 2

ERP – “Electronic Road Pricing” or in local context “Every Road Pay”. Wahaha! This ERP gantry is situated at various areas around Singapore to curb congestion and whenever a vehicle pass through it during a stipulated timing, you will have to pay for it. E.g. the above shows that if a private car pass through from 2pm to 530pm, there will be S$1 charge. At different timings, the rates differ too!

A Week in Singapore 2

H-TWO-O Isotonic drink to quench my thirst on a hot sunny day. Bought the drink at a shop in Sim Lim Square for S$1.50.

A Week in Singapore 2

Orient Photo at level 6 of Sim Lim Square to check out some camera stuffs. How is Kata bags?

A Week in Singapore 2

Sim Lim Square interior. I always have something to buy when I come here but have to exercise self-control. Ha ha!

A Week in Singapore 2

Passing by OG Albert and noticed a really huge crowd. Being a busy body, I just gotten check it out – it was actually an uncle and auntie performing a duet. Haha!

A Week in Singapore 2

Ice cream zone? At least 3 portable stalls around here (at OG Albert).

A Week in Singapore 2

Other makeshift stalls selling various stuffs are available too. Seems to be a crowded area too!

A Week in Singapore 2

Passing by Fu Lu Shou Complex.

A Week in Singapore 2

Came across a local singer Chen Wei Lian performing some of his songs inside Bugis Street. Oh yeah, I was surround by many teens. Ha ha!

A Week in Singapore 2

Bugis Street. I should probably cover it solely on a single blog post as there are many items to show. Will do it when I do come by this area again.

A Week in Singapore 2

Bee Cheng Hiang – Selling Bak Kwa (barbeque meat) and other food products.

A Week in Singapore 2

Snack time at Takopachi – 3 Octupus ball for S$2.30.

A Week in Singapore 2

A Week in Singapore 2

Makeup artist Andy Lee doing his magic on a model. 🙂

A Week in Singapore 2

After the make-up, the model posed for a photo shoot. Kawaii?

A Week in Singapore 2

East Coast Lagoon Food Village – one of my favorite food haunt. There are many good food here and is extremely popular with locals as well. Be prepared to wait for available tables if you happen to reach during the peak dinner timing.

A Week in Singapore 2

East Coast Lagoon Food Village – It’s already quite packed at 6.30pm on a Saturday. Better get a table fast before I have to wait. Hehe!

A Week in Singapore 2

Heading off to queue at Lagoon Leng Kee Beef Kway Teow stall. Look at the long queue! It may take a while but is well worth it!

A Week in Singapore 2

This is what I get after 15min of queuing patiently. Lagoon Leng Kee Beef Kway Teow at S$4. Fantastic! My mouth was salivating as I was typing this post. Slurp!!!
