16th May 2009 – Intended to wake up early at 4.30am to go Tsukiji fish market (the world’s biggest fish market) to view the famous tuna auction but due to the tiredness we sustained during yesterday’s shopping, we missed hearing the alarm clock ring and only managed to wake up at 6.30am. Despite this, we still hurried along. Ha ha! This is our 2nd day usage of the 2-Day Tokyo Metro Open Ticket and we took from Ueno station to Tsukiji station on Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line.
Stop by Tsukiji Hongan-ji on our way to Tsukiji fish market.

Queue at various sushi restaurants.
Sushi Dai – one of the famous and popular sushi restaurants in Tsukiji fish market. The popularity can be determined by the long queues. I also heard that the queue starts forming from 5am and most are locals.
Daiwa Sushi – another of the popular sushi restaurants. For Sushi Dai or Daiwa Sushi, you will need to queue roughly for an hour (depending on situation – might be more too) prior to getting your breakfast! Take note that your meal will be rushed (around 15 -20 min to finish your order) so as to cater for the long queue waiting outside.
Almost every sushi restaurants here have queues! It’s just a matter of whether it’s long or short.
